What is BC3 / FIEBDC-3?
BC3 is the file format defined by FIEBDC-3, the Spanish construction budget exchange standard used across Spain and much of Latin America to share cost databases and project estimates between estimating tools. A BC3 file is structured into typed records: concepts and chapters (~C), decompositions that break each unit into materials, labor, and machinery with their yields (~D), measurement lines with dimensions and quantities (~M), and long technical texts and specifications (~T). Omnicost imports BC3/FIEBDC-3 price banks and estimates natively, preserving that structure as editable line items rather than flattening it. The same items are normalized against a multi-source catalog of 17,982 construction prices aggregated from supplier portals, public procurement data, and BC3 files across 10+ countries, so an imported budget can be re-priced against the live market.
