Common questions about Omnicost
Short, self-contained answers about the catalog, its sources, and how to access it.
What is Omnicost?
- Omnicost is a construction cost estimation and project management platform built around an open price catalog. The catalog holds one canonical row per real-world material, labour, or equipment line, aggregating every vendor price recorded for it along with the source and the date it was observed.
Where do Omnicost's construction prices come from?
- Prices are aggregated from public procurement portals, vendor catalogs, and BC3/FIEBDC-3 budget files. Every source carries a trust score from 0 to 100, and each recorded price keeps the source it came from, its original currency, its region, and the date it was observed, so any figure can be traced back.
How often are construction prices updated?
- Each vendor observation carries its own timestamp, so freshness is per-price rather than site-wide — check the observed date on the item. Canonical median prices are recomputed nightly and weighted by source trust. Recently changed items are published in the Atom and RSS delta feeds.
Which countries does the catalog cover?
- Ten: Spain, the United States, Argentina, Mexico, Chile, Colombia, Peru, Brazil, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. Each region has its own delta feed, and prices keep the currency the source published them in.
